My Fashion Icon

My Hero, My Idol, & My Fashion Icon:
My Mama!!!
In light of Mother's Day, I felt that this is the perfect time for me to finally put the spotlight on the woman who is responsible for my passion for fashion (and everything else in life)! My Mama (formally known as Bobbi Ray Carter from HSN) is not only a fashion icon to me but also to the rest of the nation! With that being said, I will do my very best to give justice to her amazing, evolving, and glorious sense of fashion. Here's to the most beautiful, gorgeous and foxy 5* year old out there!!!
*Formal Attire!*
                                            #1                                            #2
      #3

I wanted to begin with my Ma's totally fabulous formal attire because she rocks some seriously fashion-forward choices all with thanks to her perfect petite stature!
#1: Aside from my Ma's silly (and appropriate) expression, I adore this incredibly detailed Metallic woven mini. The mini, itself, being crafted simply for someone her size not only compliments her body but is very sexy for being so "covering" (I'm using the term loosely). Pairing this creation with some strappy silver heels and gold accented jewelry, this one-of-a-kind mini proves that my Mama is a knockout!
#2: I, personally, find it difficult to pull off a cream piece. My Ma, on the other hand, rocks cream on a regular basis.... she's inspiring me to think twice about cream! She certainly makes the right choice with this cream Chanel mini with simple nude heels (as to not distract from the mini). This piece is one of my mom's favorites and it's clear why: IT'S JUST PLAIN GLORIOUS.
#3: I've saved the best creation for last. This leopard ruched dress is a perfect form fitting piece for her stature and her choice of black patent Mary Jane's adds a little extra classic spice. The best part about this? The dress is on backwards!!! As she was evaluating the dress she asks me if I think she could pull off wearing it backwards (seeing how zippers are so very fashionable right now), and you can see how I replied!

*Try a bold move like Ma did with putting a fab dress on backwards! You'll never know if you don't try!

*Dressy Causal Garb!*
                                           #1                                                 #2

I chose to highlight these two creations for the fact that I wanted to showcase her choices for day versus night dressy causal occasions! And it's clear that I like to mirror what my Ma wears... just in my own way!
#1: For a luncheon in LA, my fabulous Mama chose an edgy L.A.M.B. L.B.D. accented with black leather with white stitching pumps and simple silver jewelry. I also love how she flipped her hair out in a Farrah Fawcett-esque way.
#2: For my birthday dinner in NYC, Mama created a (literally) traffic stopping look. Wearing a funky knit patterned top with a tight black skirt, she puts the icing on the cake with bold patterned tights and knee high black boots. She wore her hair somewhat curled inwards to "formalize" her creation! Needless to say she is, was, and always will be beautiful.

*Simple changes to your hair, just like Ma flipped her's outwards then curled her's inwards, can give your creation a flirtier feel or a more formal feel!
*Casual Creations!*
                                              #1                                                   #2

Now I truly wish that I could post ALL the photos of my Ma's fantastic daily causal creations because they are ALWAYS glorious, and I have chosen these two to show a Fall creation versus a Winter creation!
#1: This creation is one that I very regularly copy. It's simply. It's sexy. And best of all, it's comfortable. Ma rocks a plain white T, fabulous jeans with white stitching, tan flat boots, and one perfect statement necklace. My Ma showed me how to "fashionize" any hum-drum outfit with the simple use of a long necklace... for this I share it with you!
#2: For her birthday, Ma decided to rock some black leggings (a staple for us both), black flat knee-high boots, a CREAM (I said she likes cream!) tunic, and a black beaded vest. I had been protesting vests until I saw my Ma in this creation! This vest had been living in Ma's closet for quite literally decades when it finally made it's reappearance, it revived the trend of the vest!

*Spice up your simple creations with statement jewelry! Revisit past trends and incorporate them into your fashion forward creations! Become a trend setter just like my Mama!

For my stunning Mama.....

Mama,
Everyone is told that "Mother Knows Best" but many people do not have the luxury of having that quote apply to fashion sense and I am the luckiest girl in the world to have you as my Ma! You're the reason I reach for the stars, the reason I strive to be the best and the reason I never give up.
Thank you for "creating" me!!!

I LOVE YOU!
