Black Bazaar

Basic, Beautiful, Bold:
BLACK.
Besides being the quintessential slimming hue, there is not a person, a shape, a size that doesn't look smashing in black. As classic as it comes, black will never EVER be out of style rather it is the only shade that remains flawless & effortlessly perfect no matter what. Here are a few of my Floridian November creations utilizing my favorite color!

*Lovely Leggings*

Though my obsession with leggings may seem excessive at times, I promise it is with good purpose! Especially during the cooler months (I say COOL and not COLD because in Florida there is no such thing as COLD...), these lovely leggings are a welcome change from my jeans! In this creation I began with my black lace print RS SHAPING leggings (a serious breakthrough in awesome) topped with a long fitted black knit top, accented with a fab black & gunmetal long necklace with my adored combat boots as puppy huggers. Although you cannot tell with this picture, this is a completely skin tight outfit... and it welcomed many compliments!

*Going skin tight in a conservative manner is not only sexy but it's a great way of saying, "That's right, I see you staring"... without having to say it!*

*Statement Silhouette*
I've said it a million times and I'm going to say it again... there is NOTHING better than a statement piece. Whether it is a piece of jewelry, pair of shoes or piece of clothing, wearing one of these "statements" boosts your mood without even trying! In the case of the above creation, the L.A.M.B wool black mini I am wearing was my fantastic Mama's until I washed & dried it.... (Note to all, NEVER dry wool for it shrinks.) This unexpectedly worked out in my favor since she didn't want it back but regardless of length, this statement mini is a party in itself. Matched with black tights and a pair of my new "wonderfully tacky" low top boots, this outfit was an attention grabber!

*While searching endlessly through stores and sites, look specifically for black statement dresses for the L.B.D. is timeless, trans-seasonal & tremendous always!*

*Beauteous Base*
With the changing weather, the use of jackets, cardis, shrugs, blazers, etc., become prominent. A black top is the consummate base for these cold shielding fashion necessities! Rocking a pair of my jeggings, a black RS tank, black low top boots, a fantastically obnoxious black flower headband, I chose to accentuate this creation with a gunmetal sparkly short jacket & simplistic jewelry. The offset of the gunmetal truly mutes the black while keeping yourself appearing extra slender!

*Explore with colors & textures to contrast or offset your black base... there are endless possibilities!*

Marvelous Mary Janes!

Classic Couture:
Mary Jane Shoes!

The Mary Jane shoe style is not only classic couture, but it is trans-seasonal, multi-generational, & truthfully timeless. From character shoes to MJ stilletos, this design is one much like that of houndstooth... it will NEVER go out of style.

Therefore one MUST invest in a pair... or two.. of these beauties. I have recently just purchased a new pair of MJs... and they're SPARKLY BLACK. I feel as if my Spice Girl side has finally become classily accepted.. and it feels fantastic.

 *MJ's w/Pants*

In this creation I went for a casual cute combo. Starting with my black wash jeggings, I added a funky print knit top with open shoulders & lace sleeves (truly a party in itself!), gunmetal & pearl earrings & bracelets and topped off with my sparkly MJs.

*Never forget how sexy a little skin here and there can be... Opting for a top with a higher neckline but with some shoulder & collar bone action is equally as sexy (maybe even a little more) as a plunging neckline. MJs only class-up the whole creation!*

*MJs w/a Mini*
Can you tell I love sparkles? It's creations like this that help me tap into my inner child and, as I previously stated, proudly rock my adored Spice Girl spirit. With diamonds on my mind (I mean it IS the holidays...), I began with my black & silver tutu/mini and paired it with a "vintage" black with diamonds top. I consider this "vintage" since it has authentic shoulder pads from the 90s... have I ever mentioned how much I love my Ma's hand-me-downs? Regardless, I iced the creation with simple diamond studs, my favored "N" necklace, & appropriately suited MJs to boot.

*Never fear your sparkly side. If you're going to play up your clothes with jazz, play down your make-up for a happy balance!*

*MJs w/Red Carpet*

When attending an event where the best of the best dressed will be present, it's crucial to call attention to yourself in the most discreet ways possible. By choosing a subtly stand-out mini (an oxymoron, I know) and killer shoes, you've won your battle without having fought it! This F21 mini was a whopping $25.
Fabulousness is affordable!

*Never forget how MJs can "classify" quite nearly any creation... with the exception of, maybe, giant jean overalls... I can't knock it until I try it! Explore your options!*
The BEST part of these Marvelous Mary Janes? They can be YOURS for $45 at DSW... Did I mention that these are STEVE MADDEN?
I promise you these are worth every penny... and when you're wearing them still 3 years from now, you'll be thanking me.
