Combat Cutie

For the LOVE of:
COMBAT BOOTS!

While traveling in Europe with my amazing Mama for graduation, I began to fall in love with some of the fashion choices these countries had to offer. But one trend screamed out to me..... Combat Boots.
I'd never realized how sexy Combat Boots could be! And I also never realized how difficult it was to find the PERFECT pair of Combat Boots.
Once I found MY boots, there was no stopping my obsession with them.....

 *Camo For Fashionistas*

With the company of my boys, Rufus (left) and Alfie (right), I debuted my Combats in true camouflage style. In a black camo mini and black studded center belt, my Combats top off this creation in a sexy & sassy way!

*I chose these Combats because of their versatility. They can be worn folded down (as seen here) or traditionally laced up (below). The chunky heel sold me on these puppies!*

*Sass-Up that L.B.D*
Here I chose to pair my laced up Combats with a fun L.B.D., gun metal skinny center belt, and black glasses. By choosing my Combats over my black flats, I've really given this somewhat simplistic dress a kick of sass! I mustn't forget to add that my Combats are by FAR the most comfortable "heel" that I own!

*Though it's difficult to see from the photo, the shoulders of this dress are embellished with miss matched brushed silver buttons. This an easy way to sass up any boring L.B.D.!*
 *Combat the Town*
For date night with my hunny, I love to ask his opinion on what he wants me to wear. Everything from the dress (usually) to the jewelry to the shoes to how I wear my hair. And this night he CHOSE the Combats over heels, boots, & flats. This is just evidence to support my claim that Combats are totally sexy!
As far as the rest of this creation, Cesar loves my mini dresses therefore I wore this little gray with black bird mini along with my black Chanel (faux) necklace.
*For those of us with expensive taste and not sufficient enough income to support those tastes, eBay and the local Flea Market become your go-to spot to find fun faux jewelry like my Chanel necklace! Explore your options... If there's a will, there's a way!*

-You will find many other creations that include my beloved Combats in older posts. Check out these posts for my Combat Love: Somewhat Channeling the 80s, Down & Up, and Simple & Sassy!

Treasure Trove

The World's Best Hidden Treasures:
The Thrift Store

My favorite guilty pleasure is, undoubtedly, thrift store shopping.Though patience is key when thrifting, the pay off can be well worth it! You never know what you will find!

*It's important to remember that one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!*

*Belt Bazaar!*

With the exception of the wide bronze belt, I purchased this whole lot of belts in the one, solitary thrift store adventure. And I paid a whopping $10 for the entire bundle!
Belts are such a vital accessory to anyone's wardrobe and the more the merrier. If you revisit my older posts, you will most definitely run across almost all of these belts!
 *Fun Finds!*

My most recent trip resulted in these two fabulously cheap, unique pieces! Being that I've been partial to bronze lately, I found the wired bronze hoops and bronze & green vintage style ring extremely appealing!
Total= $3.50

 *Adopted Apparel!*

This equestrian vest was a gem of a find! By adding on my $4.50 vest, my neutral tan turtle neck and brown leggings are transformed into a creation that strides away from the norm!

These two jackets are my practical finds. Both are business casual and can expand the possibilities of your work garb by letting you wearing your favorite tanks and skinny strapped dresses with class!
Each were approximately $5.50.

Enough said.

Fun Fashion Friend of the Month!

Starring Ms. FEBRUARY:
*Chantall*

Each month I'm going to highlight a friend of mine who continuously dresses in fabulous creations! This month is my girlfriend, Chantall, a Panamanian beauty with one of the best sets of legs on the planet. No matter where she goes, Chantall is always dressed to the 9's. I've chosen these few photos to showcase her glory and bold choices in creations!

*Bold L.B.D.*

Here Chantall rocks a  shorty & funky L.B.D. with a chunky, double-buckle center belt complimenting gunmetal jewelry and (my fav) accented with navy blue peep-toe low-top boots. She pulls in the navy boots with bold navy eyeshadow making her L.B.D., anything but boring!

-I love how she does not wear a necklace and shows off her hoots! Show 'em if you got 'em!

 *Skin Tight Ensemble*

As I mentioned before, Chantall has some glorious legs. Though she isn't baring them nude, these skin tight leggings show off her well-sculpted build! Pairing her leggings with a brilliant purple one-shoulder top (another fav) and strapy leather stilettos, she makes every occasion a platform for a fab creation!

-I love her totally tight creation. It's a ballsy look and she ROCKS it!

*Dull Shades Done Right*

This mini gray dress does wonders for her legs! Usually being a rather dull and drab color, Chantall highlights the gray dress with her adored black, double-buckled center belt and her fabulous bright red Mary Jane stilettos. I chose this creation to showcase because of her choice of shoes with this outfit. The bright red draws attention to her legs and, ultimately, screams "Look at me!"

-If you don't own a pair of red heels, buy some. You would be surprised how often you'll wear them!

*Simple & Sexy*

Here Chantall does a fantastic job at rocking the basic black & white. With her plain white tank, solid black shorts, sleek jewelry, and black strapy leather heels, the simplistic nature of this creation brings all of the focus to her muscular stature and beautiful face!
I do want to mention what a perfect white tank she has. The straps are just thick enough to cover her shoulder and, yet, thin enough to showcase her arms!

-Staying simple is sexier than you think! When in doubt, always reach for that black & white combo!

*Mini Dress Madness*
Horizontal stripes aren't the easiest pattern to pull off... they are likely to make you look wider than you would like. BUT, Chantall has found horizontal stripes done right. This mini has a slightly conservative top to accommodate the super short cut of the dress. She's chosen to accent her stripes with golds & browns, which I LOVE with navy. Topping off this mini with her navy peep-toe low-top boots, Chantall is the sexiest salior out there! ;)
-I love this mini for how it showcases Chantall's legs! Once again, if you've got 'em... rock 'em!

*The Saucy Short Skirt*
Chantall, complimented by Valerie & me, really highlights her lovely legs in this saucy skirt! With a racer-back gray tank, the black saucy skirt, and her fabulous red Mary Jane stilettos, all of Chantall's "assets" are on display.

-Be Bold and Accent Often!

**Thank you to Chantall for letting me nominate her as my very first Fun Fashion Friend of the Month! Love ya girl!**

Your Hunny's Favorite Valentine's Day Sweet:
YOU as his Eye & Arm Candy

In light of Valentine's Day, I've collected a few looks that never fail to impress for your Hunny to parade you round this romantic holiday!

(A big thank you to my amazingly Handsome Hunny, Cesar for loving my creations!)

 *Dinner for Two*

No matter how casual the restaurant, you can never go wrong with a mini dress and heels. My black and silver leopard print mini is conservative on top but shows a little extra leg which I've paired with my knee high black stiletto boots (his fav).Who cares if you're going to Chilis, Carrabas, or Cheesecake Factory, your man LOVES to show you off and this simple and sexy look is not only easy to put together but an easy success.

*Make a point to wear your Hunny's favorite pair of shoes. It will always put your creation one "STEP" ahead of the game!*

 *Fabulous & Fanciful Formal*

As you've heard from me in the past, there is nothing better than a perfect L.B.D.. In this creation I've chosen my mini L.B.D. with red patent stiletto heels, gunmetal accented jewelry, topped off with red lipstick. Red lips are classic sexy.... as long as you get your kisses BEFORE you put that on!

*Don't be afraid of a mini dress when out with your Hunny. Your man likes to show you off more than you know!*

 *It Takes Two to Tango*
Though we do not Tango, this creation is what I chose to go (what I call) Spanish Dancing! The solid purple mini, with it's fitted bottom and open shoulders, accented with a brown & gold skinny belt, showcases your body! The wonderful use of belts is being able to give you a waist line in every piece! Brown leather wooden heels show off those little piggies of yours and are sexy!

*Explore your options with the use of a skinny belt! You will be able to create something fab and something new!*

Happy Valentine's Day to My Romeo!

Bright Blue Britches

The Uses of Vibrant Leggings:
Dare to Accent Boldly

Compliments of Rhonda Shear's Leggings!

When using (figurative) the leggings at work, I chose to use the leggings as an accent to my long gray, double-breasted cardigan paired with my black tank, glasses, boots with the fur, and earrings. Bright, as they may be, the leggings coupled with my duller colors act as a the highlight accent to this creation!

This is what I created to go attend the last show of Wonderland in Tampa (highly recommending you to see it if you ever have the chance! Soon to be on Broadway!). Instead of using the leggings to highlight drab colors, I wore the bright blue babies to accent my glorious, 70s inspired, blouse together with a long black top (long enough to cover the cheekies of course) and my knee-high black heeled boots. In this creation the blouse does most of the talking instead of the leggings!

I consider this creation a color collaboration. While in Europe I was limited to only my camel boots, had I been able to wear my black boots with this creation... I probably would have. That being said, I still love the look of this outfit. With my long Victoria Beckham top, gray tank under, leggings, and camel boots, this creation sure stood out at the Palace of Versailles!

*Never fear bold COLOR! If you feel that it works, it will!*

Somewhat Channeling the 80s

The 80s Generation Sported Legwarmers:
In 2011, Rock Long Socks!

Blue Argyle Attacks!

To my Daddy's excitement (being that his company is named "Argyle"), I whipped out these bad boys from the bottom of my sock drawer to spice up my otherwise drab casual Friday creation. These statement socks, compliments of Alexandra, perfectly coupled my long navy top & gray leggings. An extra additive is my legendary rocker-chic vest (much love to my girlfriend Lizzy on that one!) that gives edge to this creation.
I kept my jewelry minimal with square shaped studs and diamond studded RJ Graziano bracelet to compliment the square studs of the vest and the square nature of the argyle print.

*Spice up your everyday outfits with a vest or socks to make a creation that is totally your own!*

 Multi-Colored Amsterdam Doosies!

Since these socks are super busy on their own, I chose to play down the rest of my creation as to let my Amsterdam socks take the spot light. Together with my purple turtle neck baby doll Diane Gilman Dress, black leggings, black center belt, and combat boots, my purple rhinestone necklace adds some bling to my top half while the socks do the rest of the talking!

Having these fun pairs of socks let's me expel my ever present love of the 80s and their ridiculous antics!

*Adding long socks (as a stand in for legwarmers), an old band shirt cut to hang off your shoulder, or a side pony tail are fun, fashionable ways to channel your own 80s love!*

Down & Up

Going to Work vs. Going to Party:
Fun with a LOUD Print

Dressed Down: At Work

To begin, this dress is an incredibly flattering cut for us "heavy-hipped" ladies. The cinched waist line hides the tummy pooch and compliments your toosh. I regularly purchase dresses with this waist line or wear "center" belts for this very purpose!

Today I chose to wear my basic (and vital) black flats, VERY simple silver & diamond drop earrings and a cutesy headband to play up my everyday bun.

When having lunch with my dad today he randomly states, "So you chose the blue eyeshadow today," (which was followed by laughter). I responded with, "Actually Daddy it's TEAL. You see the teal in my dress???" (He's such a great sport hehe!) The point of this story being that I did top off my creation with a fabulous teal eyeshadow to incorporate some of the fabulous colors in this pattern.

*Play down colors to stay more casual... Play up colors to formalize it!*

Dressed Up: For a House Party

The dress is still as glorious as it was dressed down but I made some pivotal changes to this creation to flair it "up". Clearly I pony tailed my long locks (miss them!) and gave the front of my hair some height. But namely, I wore gigantic gold & teal earrings (hand-me-downs from the glorious Rhonda Shear) and my beloved combat boots. Combat Boots can be super sexy!!! (More to come on that later on...)

Instead of the teal eyeshadow that my Daddy loves so dearly, I chose a vibrant purple (to highlight my hazel eyes). I took more liberties with color in the dressier look to make this loud dress even LOUDER!

*Strive to be the standout at a Party. You WANT to be noticed!*

Simple & Sassy

The PERFECT S&S (Simple & Sassy):
BLACK
*Dressy*

Everyone needs MULTIPLE L.B.D.s (little black dresses). When looking for a dressy L.B.D., scope for a cut that is not only flattering for your shape but offers some flair. As in this dress I bought at Niu Niu, the one shoulder strap is mesh with black spotted accents. The breast of the dress is gently twisted in the center to flatter large or tiny hoots, which is a personal favorite of mine since hoots seem to change size with fluctuation of weight!

On this night I chose to pair my L.B.D. with nude heels (a staple in every woman's closet), fabulous RJ Graziano lucite teardrop earrings, a funky RJ Graziano engagement ring bracement, and tiny platinum clutch. I chose nude and silver to let my L.B.D. stand out.

Alas, this L.B.D. has mild flair that translates to a glorious, stand out piece!

 *Dressy Casual*

Though my hair slightly hides the cut of the dress, this is, yet again, another one shoulder L.B.D.. I'm attracted to the one-shoulder cut due to my liking of my collar bones. Having rather small hoots myself, showing off shoulders and collar bones is a sexy way to show skin when lacking hoots.

This L.B.D. is a simple cotton tiered dress that I've chosen to pair with a silver & gold thatched belt (compliments of the thrift store) and a long simple silver & gold medallion. Simple black chunky pumps top off this creation.

For another fun look with this L.B.D., or any other for that matter, rock some red accents (jewels & shoes) or another fun accenting color. Never fear color with black!

 *Casual*

A distinctly different creation from my  beloved L.B.D.s, this outfit was a quick make and fantastic product. A long gold beaded top, black leggings with gold zippers and embellishment at the bottom, large gold medallion RJ Graziano earrings, and my ADORED combat boots.

The great thing about black leggings is the versatility of them. Whether they are paired with a long top, like above, or a dress, it is impossible to not own a pair of these!

Regardless of your age or size, buy a pair of leggings. No one says (actually I will severely advise against) showing your rear in these, so take a step out of the box and enjoy the uses of leggings. That super adorable dress that shrunk in the dryer? You can wear it now!
