Black Bazaar

Basic, Beautiful, Bold:
BLACK.
Besides being the quintessential slimming hue, there is not a person, a shape, a size that doesn't look smashing in black. As classic as it comes, black will never EVER be out of style rather it is the only shade that remains flawless & effortlessly perfect no matter what. Here are a few of my Floridian November creations utilizing my favorite color!

*Lovely Leggings*

Though my obsession with leggings may seem excessive at times, I promise it is with good purpose! Especially during the cooler months (I say COOL and not COLD because in Florida there is no such thing as COLD...), these lovely leggings are a welcome change from my jeans! In this creation I began with my black lace print RS SHAPING leggings (a serious breakthrough in awesome) topped with a long fitted black knit top, accented with a fab black & gunmetal long necklace with my adored combat boots as puppy huggers. Although you cannot tell with this picture, this is a completely skin tight outfit... and it welcomed many compliments!

*Going skin tight in a conservative manner is not only sexy but it's a great way of saying, "That's right, I see you staring"... without having to say it!*

*Statement Silhouette*
I've said it a million times and I'm going to say it again... there is NOTHING better than a statement piece. Whether it is a piece of jewelry, pair of shoes or piece of clothing, wearing one of these "statements" boosts your mood without even trying! In the case of the above creation, the L.A.M.B wool black mini I am wearing was my fantastic Mama's until I washed & dried it.... (Note to all, NEVER dry wool for it shrinks.) This unexpectedly worked out in my favor since she didn't want it back but regardless of length, this statement mini is a party in itself. Matched with black tights and a pair of my new "wonderfully tacky" low top boots, this outfit was an attention grabber!

*While searching endlessly through stores and sites, look specifically for black statement dresses for the L.B.D. is timeless, trans-seasonal & tremendous always!*

*Beauteous Base*
With the changing weather, the use of jackets, cardis, shrugs, blazers, etc., become prominent. A black top is the consummate base for these cold shielding fashion necessities! Rocking a pair of my jeggings, a black RS tank, black low top boots, a fantastically obnoxious black flower headband, I chose to accentuate this creation with a gunmetal sparkly short jacket & simplistic jewelry. The offset of the gunmetal truly mutes the black while keeping yourself appearing extra slender!

*Explore with colors & textures to contrast or offset your black base... there are endless possibilities!*

Marvelous Mary Janes!

Classic Couture:
Mary Jane Shoes!

The Mary Jane shoe style is not only classic couture, but it is trans-seasonal, multi-generational, & truthfully timeless. From character shoes to MJ stilletos, this design is one much like that of houndstooth... it will NEVER go out of style.

Therefore one MUST invest in a pair... or two.. of these beauties. I have recently just purchased a new pair of MJs... and they're SPARKLY BLACK. I feel as if my Spice Girl side has finally become classily accepted.. and it feels fantastic.

 *MJ's w/Pants*

In this creation I went for a casual cute combo. Starting with my black wash jeggings, I added a funky print knit top with open shoulders & lace sleeves (truly a party in itself!), gunmetal & pearl earrings & bracelets and topped off with my sparkly MJs.

*Never forget how sexy a little skin here and there can be... Opting for a top with a higher neckline but with some shoulder & collar bone action is equally as sexy (maybe even a little more) as a plunging neckline. MJs only class-up the whole creation!*

*MJs w/a Mini*
Can you tell I love sparkles? It's creations like this that help me tap into my inner child and, as I previously stated, proudly rock my adored Spice Girl spirit. With diamonds on my mind (I mean it IS the holidays...), I began with my black & silver tutu/mini and paired it with a "vintage" black with diamonds top. I consider this "vintage" since it has authentic shoulder pads from the 90s... have I ever mentioned how much I love my Ma's hand-me-downs? Regardless, I iced the creation with simple diamond studs, my favored "N" necklace, & appropriately suited MJs to boot.

*Never fear your sparkly side. If you're going to play up your clothes with jazz, play down your make-up for a happy balance!*

*MJs w/Red Carpet*

When attending an event where the best of the best dressed will be present, it's crucial to call attention to yourself in the most discreet ways possible. By choosing a subtly stand-out mini (an oxymoron, I know) and killer shoes, you've won your battle without having fought it! This F21 mini was a whopping $25.
Fabulousness is affordable!

*Never forget how MJs can "classify" quite nearly any creation... with the exception of, maybe, giant jean overalls... I can't knock it until I try it! Explore your options!*
The BEST part of these Marvelous Mary Janes? They can be YOURS for $45 at DSW... Did I mention that these are STEVE MADDEN?
I promise you these are worth every penny... and when you're wearing them still 3 years from now, you'll be thanking me.

Perfectly [Rip]ened

Attractive Defects:
[Rip]ped Jeans!

Though we all feel silly for buying jeans that are likely to be more expensive WITH rips, these jeans are a fun piece to have access to! Whether you decide to shell out the extra cash or are crafty enough to do it yourself, ripped jeans are a must have!

*Classy [Rip]s*
In this creation I have paired my ripped jeans ($32 at Forever 21) with a simple white tank, a gray embroidered cotton blazer ($10 at TJMaxx), gunmetal pumps & a glitzy headband with studs to top it off!
The rip of the jeans softens the over "stiffness" that a blazer can cause. But by balancing the rips with pumps & glitzy icing, the rips do not look trashy but rather fashionable!

*Experiment different blazers with ripped jeans. You'll be glad you did!
*Conservative [Rip]s*
Beginning with my ripped jeans, I added a tight white laced sleeved top with matching white wedges, a tan belt and, the stand out accents, turquoise drop earrings & chunky bracelet.
This creation is classic in the color palate with the added turquoise for an accent! Once again the rips add an attractive stress to the jean making this creation a fun twist on a classic color combo!

*It's always acceptable to go for jeans & white or jeans & black. Think of sprucing up the classic combos with accent colors or ripped jeans!

*Sassy [Rip]s*
In the instance of this creation, it is important to note that I DO work for an intimates company! Where I would not where this top to the law office, it is super sexy & sassy as a top in the appropriate atmosphere!
Combining my ripped jeans with this Noir style soft pink & black molded cup cami, a black cardi (for a little decency) and my black wedges to boot, this creation is undeniably sexy and edgy! The rips, here, help distract from my hoots.
All in good taste & fashion!

*Try rockin' a sexier top with your ripped jeans. The contrast of dressy & casual make for a fun creation!

Using Fashion as a Tool:
Empowered in RED!
There's no doubt that your outfit makes you feel a certain way. Whether you're bummin' it in comfy sweats or swingin' it in a frilly skirt or workin' it in a killer mini, your mood absolutely is fed by your creation. When I need to feel in CONTROL or in DEMAND, I always find myself reaching for red. Without hesitation or fail, this hue continuously amps up my game whether I'm in the office or on the town.

Here are some of my favorite power-up creations!

*Empowe[red] with Pants*
                                            #1                                           #2

#3
#1: Beginning with my bright red off the shoulder top, I paired this puppy with my black wash jeggings, black specs, gunmetal skinny belt & corresponding drop earrings, my "Sophia" boudoir bra (the red straps appear to be part of the top!), and my knee-high black stiletto boots. This creation was not only comfy, the top was the perfect tummy-camo while creating the exta-red power trip!

#2: My skinny jeans are the perfect start to my "Jammy" red creation! My tank is actually a RS sleepwear top! With the help of my solid red jacket (a find from my high school closet left at Moms), I iced this outfit with brass jewelry & my white wedges to boot! Comfort aside, nothing demands attention like bright red lips. On a day you're feeling down, pen on some lipstick and rock your inner goddess!
#3: This creation is the result of a long, difficult, & frustrating week of work. Wanting to end the week with a bang, I searched for the ideal RED outfit... Rocking a pair of jeans jeggings, I added a completely transparent red lace tank (compliments of Mom's 80s wardrobe) topped by a camel silk jacket. Accessorized with multiple multi-colored bracelets, gold earrings, and, most importantly, my red patent pumps. There was no denying my drive & refusal to quit!

*Do note that in all of these creations I have made sure to wear "big girl" heels. Standing tall in a pair of heels makes all the difference in your confidence boosting!*

*Empowe[red] with Dresses*
                                           #1                                             #2

#1: Who doesn't want to be the center of attention at a dinner party?
This unique cotton wrap dress by Miss Tina is a favorite within my classy dresses. Matched with black tights & black patent Mary Jane's topped off by simple gunmetal & pearl drop earrings by my adored R.J. Graziano, this dress is fabulously attention grabbing with or without tights!

#2: Who doesn't want to stand out in a crowd?
Attending Fashion Week Tampa Bay (have I mentioned that I LOVE my job?!), I wore this deep red one-sholuder mini with all the right rouching & cinching to draw eyes to me. This mini was a find at... (I'm not joking)... Marshalls! A big thanks to my cuñada, Val, for lending it to me! Completing the creation with bright red lips, a multi-stranded brass necklace with matching earrings & ring and finalized with my brand-spankin'-new Jessica Simpson black/gold mega pumps. These are bound to be a winter staple!

*The cut of a dress is pivotal to your mood enhancement. For us curvy gals, sticking with a waist cinching cut or skin-tight number will, undoubtedly, always do the trick!*

Help[ed] Me Rhonda!

The Answer to All "Intimate" Questions:
Rhonda Shear Intimates!

First I need to apologize for having been on hiatus without forewarn... But, I mean it is completely for a good cause! A NEW JOB! The one I landed wearing my skinny jeans and floral pumps? You guessed it! I'm now an extremely proud team member at Rhonda Shear Intimates!
Aside from loving the woman I work for, the one & ONLY Rhonda Shear, I have embraced and developed a deep seated passion for pieces that work. Each and every garment within the collections has the utmost pizazz, functionality, style & grace....and I'm not just saying that because I work there! My lady lumps have been surrendered to Rhonda for over FIVE years now... She really "helped" me!
Here are just a select few looks that showcase some of my favorite pieces!

*The Full Package!*
In this creation I utilize three separate Rhonda pieces: two you can see & one you cannot. This creation consisted of my long white button down collared shirt accented by my RS nude "Action" Bandeau bra (for serious subtle sparkle), a gunmetal skinny belt and coordinating gunmetal jewelry, nude heels (a Rhonda hand-me-down), and lastly... my navy high-waisted SHAPING LEGGINGS. This is no joke people. Leggings that are not only rich in color but they are also sucking in my tummy & lifting my booty! What more could you ask for in a legging?!

*Do note that my "unseen" RS piece is definitely my "Cheeky" panties. Though I chose to wear undies with my leggings, it isn't even necessary! This makes the shaping leggings a triple threat: fashionable, SHAPING & no-panty-needed.
Take it from me... YOU NEED THESE.

*The AUTHENTIC Ahh Bra!*
If you have been following my blog, you will certainly recognize my love of this international best selling bra is anything but new. Being completely wireless with full coverage & totally comfy, the RS Ahh Bra has become my go-to fashion "fixer". The perfect example being the creation here. Rocking my adored snake print maxi (which is far too low cut for the working environment... even for the intimates business) and a black RS Ahh Bra, I top off this number with black wedges, my black specs and brassy drop earrings.

*The Ahh Bra is not just a fantastic fashion "fixer" but it is an amazing leisure bra too. When I worked at an animal hospital it was the one & only bra I ever wore under my scrubs! There's a reason this thing is an international best seller!

*"Nightie" on the Town!*
I've highlighted this creation for a VERY important reason... I am wearing a NIGHT GOWN out in public! And as super sexy top! Doubling as a sensual lace trimmed top and a slip under my pencil skirt, this Butterknit gown is a staple amongst my sleepwear & nightwear! You may be asking, "what the heck is butterknit?" Well, without experiencing the wonder first hand yourself, let me just tell you that it is the world's most heavenly fabric that literally feels like rose petals to the touch. I wish I had sheets that were butterknit....
But enough about the butter and back to this fab look! Pairing my RS butterknit gown with my pencil skirt, I finish off the outfit with black peep toe heels, a glorious RJ Graziano multi-strand lucite necklace & bracelet, and a gunmetal mega ring. To say the least, this top/gown is certainly an attention getter.

*When you have sleepwear as enticing & seductive as this gown, your options are endless. Muster up the courage to break out those sexy pieces in your closet & wear them on the street! This butterknit gown being only one of many, do yourself a favor and try one. You'll thank me a million times over!

A special thanks to Rhonda for being fabulous and giving us all the chance to be so too! Here's to my amorous adventure within the wide world of intimates...

Pump It Up!

Wanting to sass up something simple?
PUMP IT UP!!!

In my personal opinion, there is nothing sexier or sassier than a perfect pair of Pumps. When I find myself wanting to add some jazz to my simple look, I almost always resort to throwing Pumps into the mix! Regardless of the fact that my Daddy simply can not understand how I drive in them, Pumps, without doubt, can always sass up your creation!!!

*Red Patent Pumps*
For my step-dad's 60th Birthday bash, I chose a basic, but fab, L.B.D. with gunmetal accessories complete with a glorious chunky necklace, studs, bracelet & ring. But this creation was lacking some spice therefore I added in my candy apple red patent pumps! To tie in my pumps, I applied some bright red lips to sweeten the deal!!!

*Acquiring red heels (whether pumps or not) are a must have in any lady's closet. Acting much like a basic, red can highlight your core colors: black, white, gray, brown, etc.!

*Military Madness Pumps*
Aside from having emotional ties to the Military trend (Papas, Uncles, & brother, etc.), there was just no saying "No" to these puppies. Even though at the time I purchased these bad boys I had no clear outfit in mind for them, I simply fell in love with them and became determined to find partners for my new sweeties. When I evaluated my closet after having purchased them, I found many options! Browns & olives galore!
This creation was BEYOND comfy. Wearing a long sleeved olive DG2 top, little boy's khaki pants (literally boys because I bought them at the thrift store!!!), my gold specs, a brassy long necklace & my military men to boot, this creation went from drab to fab within a matter of seconds!

*If you fall in love with a pair of shoes, there is just not denying it. Don't fret that you have absolutely NOTHING to wear with them.... for if there is a will, there is a way! Don't find yourself later on wishing you had purchased the perfect pair!

*Floral Fantastic Pumps*

Here are yet another pair that were love at first sight! As you've seen in my previous post, Floral Fancy, Floral is HUGE right now.... and always! Naturally I nearly died when I saw that they were only a whopping $40 at TJMaxx, and purchased them without thinking twice.
#1: What a fantastically flirty creation this was! Wearing a nude lace mini (seriously a cool find... I suggest you find one too! Endlessly versatile), mauve/pinky T, and my beloved floral stud/necklace set from my Grams, the pumps are the icing on the top of this look!
#2: For a job interview with a fashion/lingerie company, I wanted to portray collected, smart, fashionable, & sensibly sexy &, with this creation, I accomplished just that! Rocking my skinny jeans, pale pink lace top, Grams duo (for good luck) & pumps, I GOT THE JOB!!!

*Places like TJMaxx are a wonderful way to snag top of the line shoes at lovely discounted prices. (I know you've heard the commercials.... but seriously though, I'm totally a Maxxinista) Do note that the Red Patent Pumps are a TJ find too!

*Glorious Gunmetal Pumps*

Though I relentlessly have to hide these glorious pumps from my pup Rufus as he has an affinity for ONLY gunmetal colored shoes, it is totally worth the trouble! This creation is truthfully my favorite example of "Pump it Up" since I woke up this morning with 15 minutes to spare and receive tons of compliments on this look. My gunmetal pumps tie in my chunky gunmetal chain necklace & matching ring swimmingly while my simple black T & skinny jeans are the ground work of a fabulous creation.

*You don't have to wake up early to look smokin' hot everyday. When you're needing a pick-me-up or just a last second additive, reach for those pumps... you won't be disappointed!

**The best advice of all that I can give is to tell you to purchase the insoles (foot petals) for the ball of your foot. You'll thank me later.**

Amazing Antthony

Fabulous Fashion from a Fabulous Man:
Antthony Mark Hankins!
Aside from being one of the sweetest men to ever walk the planet, Antthony has tons of seriously glorious fashion pieces! From day to day wear to quintessential couture, Antthony creates pieces for every woman to feel fabulous in!

2-4-1

Purchased together as a maxi + cardi combo, I knew I was getting double for my money spent! Just as fabulous together as they are apart, the vibrant peachy color of this ensemble caught my eye & certainly compelled me into purchasing it from HSN.com!
#1: I consider this the "dressy" creation. Wearing the cardi over a simple cream tank, I added a high-waisted olive skirt, (though hard to see here) an earring & charm set from my Grama with flower & my brown jeweled wedges to boot. This one was a hit at work!
#2: For Sunday grocery shopping, I tossed on the peach maxi, whipped a gold belt (empire waist) on, my beloved flower charm & studs from Gram, and plain ol gold flips. Taking less than 5 minutes to get ready, this creation was simple & perfect!

*No matter where you're going, take a minute to put something on that you love. Who cares if you didn't wake up early to put make up on for work or if you're the best looking chick at Walmart?! Be YOU!

Double Trouble

These tunics are the same precise cut & comfy fabric... hence why I bought two! I have absolutely NO shame for purchasing two of the same basic thing... and neither should you!!! Especially when Antthony creates these tunics that not only look fab but are gloriously comfortable. The more the merrier!!!
#1: In this large floral print tunic, I wore black pants, black pumps, subtle gold & pearl-esqe earrings & my black specs. This creation "lightens up" & summerizes my all black accents with the "fancy floral" print!
#2: Contrasting the dressier approach I used with the first creation, in this look I dressed down the gray & buckle print tunic with skinny jeans, black flats, gunmetal drop earrings & a gunmetal thumb ring for a relaxed yet fashionable Friday creation!

*These tunics are not only versatile but they are also perfect for camouflaging the bothersome tummy pooch! Fabulous & functional? Of course I bought two!

Couture Queen
My absolute favorite of ALL of my Antthony pieces is by far this beautiful couture dress. Favored by me for its classic, vintage like design, you can see here why I fell in love with it immediately!
#1: For my girlfriend's tea party, I rocked my couture dress with over the top accessories! My fantastical "English" hat, multi-stranded pearl necklace, black lace gloves & black sparkly peep-toe heels work together to create possibly my favorite party outfit EVER!
#2: Going to see Mary Poppins on Broadway in the middle of winter in NYC, I let my Antthony couture dress have ALL the attention. Under my much needed faux black & brown trench, I give the dress all the attention with simple dimond stud earrings, black tights & black knee high boots. I felt more elegant than Mary Poppins herself!
*A classic cocktail dress, like this one, is essential for every woman. Remembering that black & white will NEVER go out of style, I encourage you to spend a little extra on the perfect one for you!

***A huge THANK YOU to Mr. Antthony himself for creating these, and many many more, amazing pieces for us to look & feel just as fabulous as we are inside, on the outside! You're wonderful & NEVER quit making us ladies beauitful!***

Floral Fancy

Fantastic, Flattering, Feminine:
FLORAL!
Floral, as a print, is a trend much like that of Hounds-tooth... forever fabulous & constantly revisiting the "Hot Now" list of fashion. Your mother, your grandmother, your daughter, your daughter's best friend, your mother's best friend, (have I made a point here?) etc. all fancy them some floral print. I find myself having a field day each season floral is used in high quantities... seeking out pieces that will certainly be appropriate for more than just this summer! You no longer have to worry about your granny's massive floral moo-moo tainting your opinion of this print!!!

Flouncy & Flirty Floral

My eyes were attracted to this flouncy mini dress due to the over-sized print of the floral itself. I loved the boldness of the colors as well as the super softness of the cotton. Though you can't see here (I'm not Gumby), the back of the mini is somewhat open with two large bows across the open section of which, as if I wasn't already, sold me on the dress. In this creation, for work, I chose to pair the mini with white leggings (in the spirit of summer), my black specs, simple diamond studs, my diamond initial necklace & fab red pumps. Due note the side of these pumps have bows like the back of the dress!!!

*Remove the leggings and you've got a sassy & sexy little mini for a date with your hunny bunny! Be daring and show off those God given legs!

Fancy & Femme Floral

What's more feminine than pink & purple flowers?! This gorgeous Chi by Falchi cardi, a snag from HSN, epitomizes fancy & femme floral. As I have raved in the past about my love of cardis & their endless versatility, it's about time I added a floral one to my collection and I advise you to do the same! Here I use the Chi cardi by making it the focal point of the creation. Under the cardi is a plain white tank paired with a black high-waisted skirt, my diamond studs, black specs & finished off with my gray peep-toe heels.

*Aside from the many uses of cardis, like this beauty, alas I have discovered the endless uses of gray heels. I encourage you to start using gray as a neutral shade, just like here. Especially in summer, it's a fun way to summerize your creation by eliminating some black & adding some jazzy gray!

Fabulous & Fearless Floral

By far the sexiest of all these floral finds, this wrap-like mini easily illustrates how sensual floral print can be! This mini quickly became my favorite purchase from H&M in NYC (still waiting on one in FL!).
#1: Wanting to balance the amount of skin I had showing, I wore the mini with a purple tank & a white linen shrug. Accessorizing with vintage style drop earrings, matching ring & white wedges, this created a look that said, "I'm a woman on a mission... and I'm looking goooood doing it."
#2: For a night out with my man, the mini helps to glorify the feminine figure with the aid of a tight sage green halter, nude wedges & fabulous R.J. Graziano drop earrings. Here I was going for a, "take me out & show me off" creation! I think it worked!

*Revisit some of your minis & evaluate how you could balance your display of skin to be able to wear your favorite sexy piece in places other than the club. A wrap-like mini, like this one, gives leeway to a partial mini which can definitely come in handy for making your mini more versatile!

Lighten Up

Summerize Your Favorite Dark Looks:
The Wonders of Nude & White!

*Perfect Nude Pumps*

The color black is a girl's best friend for its classic, slimming properties. Though black is accepted throughout the seasons, in summer, I find myself trying to lighten up on my usage on the beloved color. In this creation I sport my favorite wide leg black wash jeans (a staple in my closet), a black rouched sleeved top, my black specs, a long Tori Spelling black & gold long necklace and my pivotal "lightening" piece... my nude pumps!

In the spirit of attending Priscilla: Queen of the Desert in NYC, I felt the need to sparkle things up in my own way! This creation was a fun twist on the classic black on black. Wearing the same black rouched sleeved top as above, I paired the top with a high-waisted black flouncy mini with a sparkly silver underlay (which is sadly hard to see here!), gigantic silver chandelier earrings and, of course, my fantastic nude pumps!
(And a fun thanks to my big sis, Tracey, for taking such fab photos!)

*Though the "lightening" aspects of these creations may seem subtle, their overall effect is exactly what makes these looks summery! Just imagine the first creation with solid black pumps and the second with solid black knee-high boots...

*Perfect White Pieces*

Keeping in the flow of how to lighten up our favorite black looks during summer, this funky L.B.D. by Tiana B. is one of my go-to dresses... no matter the season! The wonders of white are showcased in this creation with the help of a fat white buckled center belt and my adored white wedges. I kept the jewelry simple with vintage style silver drop earrings, a plain silver ring and my black specs! You can't go wrong when it's as clear as black & white!

This "lightening" technique is far different from the others. Instead of using small accents to lighten things up, I chose to center this creation around a crisp solid white DG2 tunic. By adding the warm chocolate leggings and olive cardi (a veteran in my blog favs!), the white is no longer stark but rather toned down. With the help of gold & brown jeweled chandelier earrings, my gold specs and brown jeweled wedges, I created a comfy, cool outfit for a summer's workday!

*Be sure to not overuse white in summer. It's rather easy to do. Instead, experiment with darker/warmer hues to counteract the starkness that white is famous for!

Walmart Wonderful

Never Fear The Cheap Alternative:
Walmart Wonderful!!!

Let's be honest, who doesn't love to go grocery shopping and stumble upon remarkably cheap tanks/tees? Well I sure do!!! Whilst headed to the check out line with my weekly Walmart purchases, I found my attention being drawn to the motley group of tees & tanks under a sign that said "$3.88". I immediately scoped out the material to feel if the fabric was scratchy or uncomfortable but I was wrong on both accounts.

The bold, beautiful, solid colors being perfect for adding more choices to your closet, I continued to purchase 5 tops for a total of $21! As you can see only 4 out of the 5 are in this photo due to the fact that I wore my favorite tank tonight to an Improv show with my girlfriends!!!

I never dreamed that I would find the perfect floral tank while picking up my frozen fruit at Walmart. Regardless, I was SO pumped to purchase this fabulous tank! Paired with my black layered mini (as seen in Saucy Lacey), black wedges, black studs & black anchor necklace and topped off with my faux Gucci clutch( I mean it WAS girl's night!). This creation was an unexpected beauty!

*Walmart Shopping Lesson of the Day: When in need of a last minute fix, a little inspiration, or some guilt free retail therapy,  never fear your neighborhood Walmart for fantastic solids, prints & just plain ol choices!
